Administration and Support

Building and Grounds - Maintenance and improvements of the physical church, based on need (Warren Blanc) 

Columbarium - Oversees the opening, closing, and maintenance of the columbarium (Timothy Hepp)

Vestry - Parishioners elected to lead the parish.  Their role is defined by the Episcopal Church canons, Diocesan canons, and the by-laws of St Barnabas

Communication Ministry

Communication Committee - To gather, prioritize & share information with the St Barnabas community and beyond (Helen Barron and Carla Carwile)

Faith Formation

Adult Forum - Volunteer-led adult education on most Sunday after the 9:30 am service, between 10:45 and 11:00am, for exploration of moral and spiritual issues.  Involvement in the planning and presenting is greatly encouraged. (Chris Bauer & Jack Unruh)

Education for Ministry (EFM) - Four-year program for adult faith/spiritual formation (Elizabeth Hepp)

Family Ministry - Sunday School, Youth Group, Nursery and Families


Finance Committee - Works with auditor, prepares and presents the Church's financial statements to the Vestry at monthly meetings and to the parish at Annual Meetings. (Larry Volmert)

Grocery Cards - Fundraiser for the church.  People can purchase King Soopers and Safeway gift cards with a portion being donated to the church.  100% of the proceeds are allocated to the church's operational budget. (Joe Megeath)

Legacy Society - Program offering parishioners a way to give part/all of their estate to the church (Church Office)

Stewardship - Yearly request of pledges for money and talents in response to God’s love and to support the ministries of St Barnabas (Roger Madison)


Acolytes - Assist throughout the Sunday and Special Services, lighting candles (David Ford)

Altar Guild - Prepare and setup prior to the Eucharist, and clean up afterward (Katherine Johnson)

Chalice Bearers - Assist the priest administering the Eucharist (Cheryl Volmert)

Choir - Parishioners who practice, perform and lead the congregation in song during worship (Mary Erickson)

Greeters - Trained volunteers to assist those who need help accessing the church and provide support for visitors prior, during and after the 9:30 Sunday service (Helen Barron)

Readers / Lectors / Prayers - Parishioners who read and lead prayers during church services 

Servers - Parishioners who help serve Eucharist during church services 

Scheduling for 9:30 Service - Solicits input, develops and shares monthly schedules for volunteers at the 9:30 service (Cheryl Volmert)

Sound System - Set up and operate the sound system for church services (Lynn Hoffman)

Verger - Assistant to the clergy and "concierge of the church" (Timothy Hepp) 

Parish Life

Arts on Vine - An outreach program joining the parish and community by providing a venue for visual and performing artists from the community and the parish (Timothy and Elizabeth Hepp)

Auction - Primary fundraiser and community-building event, featuring services and events donated by parishioners (Heather Frazier)

Book Club - Books are selected and discussed that support spiritual growth (Sher Mangan)

Dinners for Eight - Four couples get together for a meal and fellowship (TBD)

Greeters & Newcomers - Welcome and active interaction with visitors and new parishioners (Helen Barron)

Special Events - Planning and organization for parish social and celebratory events (Karen Hoffman)


Ervin Outreach Fund - Grants made available to fund outreach and fundraising for outside social agencies (Pat Long)

Soup Group - Soup is made and sold to raise funds for St. George's Clinic in Baghdad through the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East (FRRME)  (Barbara Farley)

Women's Homelessness Initiative (WHI) - Provides safe overnight sanctuary and a meal for 20 women, two Thursday evenings per month.  (Timothy Hepp)

Pastoral Care

Caring Ministry - Trained volunteers provide emotional and spiritual support through compassionate listening and being a caring presence to people going through a difficult time.  (Cheryl Volmert)

Share the Care - Helps to meet the immediate, mostly physical needs of parishioners, such as transportation, food, shopping, visits to give loving social support.  (Irene Shepard)

Eucharistic Visitors Ministry - Trained volunteers deliver sacrament to homebound parishioners.  (Helen Barron)
