What is this "Barnabites' Area?"

This area allows church members to access & modify their own profile & contact information, upload photos, control the information other members can see about you, search for other members, print directories, see giving history, and even give online.  Only church members have access to this area, via login and password

How do I login to the Barnabites' Area?

If you have obtained an online account, click on "Resources" -> "Login for Barnabites"
This is what you see when you first login.  You can return to this page at any time by clicking "Home" -> "My Overview"

How do I know if I've got online access?

After requesting access, you will receive an email with subject, "New Account Verification for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church", containing your username, temporary password, and instructions on how to proceed

How do I sign up for online access?

Click on "Resources" -> "Login for Barnabites", then "Need a login? Click here":

 

You will be asked to provide your email address, first and last names:

This information must match exactly the information already in the church directory; if it does, you will receive an email with subject, "New Account Verification for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church", containing your username, temporary password, and instructions on how to proceed.  If the information does not match church records (for example, if your record doesn't contain an email address), you will be directed to contact the church, to update your contact information:

Is my information secure?

We have taken measures to insure that your information is maintained in a secure manner, with controls on who can access it.  None of the information about you, your account preferences or your giving history is stored at the church, or on a staff member's computer.  In addition, any changes made to your information have to be approved by the church admin, to help insure that errors and potentially malicious changes are caught.

How do I view my profile information?

After logging in, click on "Home" -> "My Profile" in the top menu bar, OR click on "I Want to View..." -> "My Complete Profile" in the Overview Page

Can I change my personal / contact info?

Yes, you can change names, add/modify phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, and other information.
Click on "Home" -> "My Profile", OR click on "I Want to View..." -> "My Complete Profile" from the Overview Page
Click on a pencil icon to edit the information in that area:

To change personal info, click on on "Home" -> "My Profile", then click "Edit" in the upper right corner:

Do NOT change your "Member Status"; this could affect your ability to access online information.  Also, note that any/all changes go through a Change Request process, and must be approved by the church admin; this helps insure that errors and potentially malicious changes are caught.

To specify how you prefer to be contacted, click on "Home" -> "My Profile", then "Change Preference":

 

To specify preferred phone, email and address listings, and designate listings as "unlisted" (to prevent other members from seeing them), click on "Add" to add a Phone, E-mail or Address, or click on the pencil icon to edit an existing entry:

Can I upload a photo of myself, or my family?

Yes, you can upload individual and/or family photos.
Click on "Home" -> "My Profile", then click "Edit" in the upper right corner.

How do I search for other members?

After logging in, click on "Home" in the top menu bar, then type in all or part of a Last or First name in the Search box, then click "Search":

Can I view / download / print a church directory?

Yes.  After logging in, click "Directories" in the top menu bar.  An "Individual Directory" lists every person separately, while a "Family Directory" groups family members into a single listing.

I would prefer not to list my email/phone/address in the directory or in search results.  How do I do this?

After logging in, click "Home" -> "My Account", then select "Personal Preferences" to display "Directory Preferences":

Can I make online gifts?

Yes.  After logging in, click "Giving" -> "Give Now", OR click on "Give Now" in the "My Giving Summary" box in the Overview Page:

 

You will be given choices on whether this is a one-time or recurring gift, which church fund the gift is for, and the method of payment (electronic check is preferred, or credit/debit card):

Is online giving safe & secure?

All online transactions are conducted using an encrypted connection, through ACS Technologies (who has been providing financial (and other) services for St Barnabas for many years), and Vanco, a PCI Level 1 Compliant Service Provider.  Sensitive financial information (such as account and credit card numbers) do not pass through, and are not stored on, church premise computers; neither does church staff have access to this information.  While "perfect security" does not exist, we have researched the details, methods and reputations of the organizations and partners involved in providing online giving, and believe that it is a robust and secure system.

Can I arrange for a recurring (scheduled) gift?

How do I view my giving history?

After logging in, click on Giving" -> "My Giving History" in the top menu bar, OR click on "My Giving History" in the "My Giving Summary" box in the Overview Page:

Can a visitor make an online gift?

Yes. An individual can make an online gift without having to "sign up" as a member.  Click "Give" -> "Donate Now":

What is "Groups" / "My Groups"?

We are not using this functionality at this time, though are evaluating it to see if it would be helpful for the parish.

How do I change my password?

After logging in, click "Home" -> "My Account", then select "Account Settings".
